We take the safety of our students as our top priority—both in the classroom and online. Here is a reminder of why it is critical for parents and guardians to stay vigilant about our children's online activity.
A recent news report highlights a dangerous situation where two young girls were abducted by an individual they had been communicating with for months through Roblox and Snapchat. This serves as a vital reminder that predators can hide behind avatars and usernames in the games and apps our kids use every day.
We encourage all of our families to: 🔴 Monitor Video Game Chatrooms: Platforms like Roblox and Fortnite often have open chat features where strangers can contact minors. ⚪ Check Social Media & Discord: Regularly review direct messages and friend lists on apps like Snapchat, Instagram, and Discord. 🔴 Have Open Conversations: Talk to your students about the dangers of sharing personal information or meeting anyone they met online.
Let’s work together to keep our Red Devil Nation safe!

Touchdown for Literacy! 🏈📖
Our Red Devil Family is taking the field for READBowl 2026! Founded by Super Bowl Champion Malcolm Mitchell and his Share the Magic Foundation, this free, four-week global competition challenges students to read as many minutes as possible.
We are incredibly proud of our LCMS 8th graders! Since the "kickoff" on January 12, our students have been working together as a team, tracking their reading minutes both at home and in the classroom. They are currently tackling the classic The Outsiders, building a love for reading while making connections across all their subjects.
The Game Plan:
Duration: January 12 – February 6 (Four quarters of reading!)
The Goal: Track every minute read at home and school to boost our team average.
The Big Stage: Winners will be announced on Super Bowl Sunday, February 8!
Perks: Students get access to a virtual "locker room" with special motivational messages.
Thank you to our amazing students and families for supporting these strong reading habits. Let’s show the world what Red Devil Pride looks like!

Lincoln County Schools will return to a normal operating schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
All classes and bus routes will operate as regularly scheduled.
See you in the morning!

This decision follows close consultation with public safety officials. Although the forecast predicts sunshine by Monday morning, extreme overnight lows in the teens and 20s present a significant risk of refreezing and "black ice." Our primary concern is the safe operation of our school bus fleet, as these high-profile vehicles face unique safety challenges on icy bridges and secondary roads.
Instructional Details:
Packet Distribution: Physical learning packets are being sent home with students today, Friday, January 23.
Absences: Students who are absent today may collect their materials from the front office once normal operations resume.
Grading: To alleviate stress on our families, these packets are for remediation and skills reinforcement only and will not be graded.
The district will continue to monitor road conditions throughout the day Monday. A follow-up announcement regarding Tuesday’s schedule will be released by 4:00 PM on Monday via our primary notification channels.

We are down to the wire! The deadline to order your personalized LCMS yearbook is Friday, January 30, 2026. This is your last chance to add that personal touch and make this school year's keepsake truly your own.
Make sure your student has their name and special icons ready to go before the window closes!

Just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday, January 19th, as we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We hope all of our students, staff, and families enjoy this time to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and the values of service and community that make our Red Devil Nation so strong.
We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus, refreshed and ready to learn, on Tuesday!
