Students may wear a hat to school for $1 tomorrow, March 18, 2026, as part of the 2026 Georgia Statewide Day of Service. All of the of the proceeds collected will be donated to 2 local non-profit organizations: LC Paws and Lincolnton Food Pantry.

The Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition is a prestigious annual contest for Georgia public school students in grades K-12, promoting writing, creativity, and academic achievement since 1991. Sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors (GLAS) and the Georgia RESA Network, it accepts various genres, including poetry, short stories, essays, and narratives, with judging based on ideas, organization, cohesion, and language. Congratulations to our grade level winners!
