Lincoln County Schools will host Open House for the FY 2027 school year on Monday, August 3rd from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Basics, a strategy for whole communities to support vibrant learning and brain development among children from birth to age five, focuses on phonological awareness, which begins with word awareness and being able to recognize, for example, the number of words that make up a spoken sentence. Secondary mastery of these skills includes recognizing rhyme and syllables. At the most detailed level, the phoneme level, students can discern the sounds that make up a word. Take time throughout the summer to read or listen to read aloud with your children! Click here to check out a story time activity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mde5GB8_A-k
Mark your calendars for Open House and the First Day of School for the 2026-2027 school year!

Challenge your child to unplug for a day and journal what they did instead.
